Chris Yenney

A kayaker, river guide, and outdoor educator with a dedication to craftsmanship.

I was born and raised in Georgia and fell in love with nature at a young age. I grew up spending summers outside at summer camp in Asheville, NC. I attended Young Harris College in North Georgia and majored in Outdoor Leadership. I built my foundation for outdoor education and woodworking. One of my professors introduced me to woodturning and I quickly fell in love. I continued to develop my skills in both pursuits and graduated in 2017. I went on to work for multiple well renowned outdoor companies including Outward Bound, the Nantahala Outdoor Center, GOALS, and the Alzar School. Throughout my career, I led multi-day expeditions backpacking, rafting, climbing, and kayaking all over the world. In the off seasons, I developed my woodworking skills. I now call Boise, Idaho my home and enjoy all of the access it offers to rivers, mountains, and a wonderful woodworking community.
